Thanks to Natalie over on I Married a Polack…, who left me a comment on my post called Good People and let me know she chose me for the Lemonade Award, which tips a hat to bloggers with “great attitude” or “great gratitude”. Though I consider myself a hard-core cynic, Natalie said I remind her to appreciate the little things in life and chose me as a blogger with great gratitude. Hey, I don’t argue with accolades!
I haven’t prepared either a thank-you speech or a list of my own nominations, so please forgive me for grabbing my award and running. Actually, receiving the award for gratitude got me thinking about so many things, not the least of which being that though I am usually grateful for so much, I also find myself becoming discontent and forgetting what I have.
It’s a fine line to call things as I see them yet also step back and admire my life as is, good and bad, find the flecks of gold mixed with the soot, juggle all of it in my hands and end up smiling because hell, it ain’t so bad.
