Achy Breaky Heart

I have a deep, dark confession to make. This is difficult for me, so please bear with me as I struggle for the words to say this to you. I must release my heavy burden to the world, or else surely…*sob*…it will be the untimely death of me.

On my way to work this morning, Billy Ray Cyrus crooned Achy Breaky Heart” over the radio. Not only did I not change the station…

…I sang along.

*hanging head in shame*

Ahhh, now it’s out there. I have unshouldered my secret and bared my soul. I understand if you can no longer look me in the eye. Perhaps I won’t add that not only did I sing, I also danced a little. That would be a bit much for you to handle all at once, I believe.

About TheSmirkingCat

I am endlessly trying to make sense of a world that has completely and unapologetically lost its mind.

  1. The 2nd graders at my son's school recently did a little dance number to this song. You aren't alone!

  2. Amy says:

    How could you? 😉

I like him better minus the mullet. LOL

  3. Smirking Cat says:

Ah, I am in the good company of 2nd graders! Good to know 🙂

And yet, mullet-less is always better.

I'm not an Achy Breaky fan but I was trying to learn a couple of songs of his last night on the guitar(Back to Tennessee) and the one he sang with Miley on the Hannah Montana Movie (Butterfly Fly Away). I am becoming a Billy Ray fan (shhhh…don't tell anybody). This rock 'n roll, R & B, & pop lady is going a lil bit country.

  7. Smirking Cat says:

    There's a Spanish version…? Seriously?

  8. You are a brave woman…for admitting this! 🙂

  9. kimberlina says:

    guilty pleasures!! EMBRACE!

  10. Pam says:

Well, the mullet might have been a bit extreme, but his current flat-ironed hair looks just as ridiculous. I'd forgotten how cute he was back then!

Don't be shy! Tell me how great I am. Or not. Share your feelings with the group.
