Gary called the kids yesterday evening to see how their first day of school went. Everyone seemed to have had a good day, until Sunflower, who started first grade, got on the phone. When Gary asked her how her first day went, she sighed and said, “Well, it was okay.”
Sunflower had been extremely excited to go back to school, so it wasn’t the reaction Gary expected. He asked her what was wrong.
She told him, “I didn’t get anything to bring home.”
Gary reassured her, “Well, it was only the first day. Maybe you will have homework tomorrow.”
I had to laugh when I overheard that. Upset about not having homework! I can’t say I ever felt that way.
yea.. me either!
she is so cute!
That's cute. I've been printing off sheets for the boys to do so they keep in practice. I wonder how Younger Boy will react because it's his first official day of school
How sweet! Hopefully she keeps that attitude, but I doubt it!
How cute!
We had our first day of school today, and the Tiger (just starting second grade) demanded I find him some homework. So I pulled out some leftover worksheets from last year and he was happy.
But he was positively gleeful that he had homework for me! Sure, it was just the annual paperwork that comes home, but he loved turning the tables.
