Just Not the Same

This past weekend I tried something completely new to me: I sat through an entire football game, from start to finish, and actually paid attention. Gary’s team was playing, so we had full props, pizza and wings included.

It actually wasn’t half bad. I learned a little something about the game, found myself getting into it, and enjoyed watching a game with Gary, who is highly amusing and far more entertaining to watch than the game, especially if his team is screwing up and he is engaging in a bit of through-the-TV coaching.

Still…I found myself thinking that something was missing. Namely…an ice rink, hockey sticks, and a puck.

Not for much longer though! One more week to the Lightning’s first pre-season game. Maybe…just maybe…this season, we will finish third from last instead of dead last! Ah, I can dream, can’t I?

Fingers crossed that your team does better this year

  2. After one dreadful season after another since 2006, I'm not terribly hopeful for a glowing season. A not-as-horrible season would be nice, though!

The only thing I enjoy about football is the tight pants 🙂

Don't be shy! Tell me how great I am. Or not. Share your feelings with the group.
