This past weekend, Dove settled in with her drawing pad and a pencil shaped like a hammer (her favorite one) to bestow upon us some one-of-a-kind artwork. From my own observations, Dove’s drawing consists mostly of using the eraser, even when there is nothing yet to erase, but who am I to argue creative genius?

When Dove completed her masterpiece, she proudly held it up for us to see. It closely resembled jagged V’s scratched randomly across the paper. Keenly noticing our inability to appreciate true art, Dove patiently explained to us, “This says, ‘I love Daddy so much in my heart’.”

Then she added, “In Spanish.”

Gary hung the grand Spanish artwork on the refrigerator door. Or, should I say, the door of “la nevara”?

About TheSmirkingCat

I am endlessly trying to make sense of a world that has completely and unapologetically lost its mind.

That is so cute and hilarious! Kids not only love making up their own languages but they also seem to love translating others in their own way also.

Don't be shy! Tell me how great I am. Or not. Share your feelings with the group.
