Home Invasion

When I got home the other day, the rug that is normally by the front door was tousled, upside down, crumpled up in the middle of the living room. The curtains were swung out and flayed haphazardly across the cushions of the sofa. Cat toys peppered the floor from the kitchen to the hallway.

What could possibly have happened here? An intruder? A home invasion? A wayward criminal? A tussle?

No. Nothing so dramatic.

Perched in all his misbehaving glory in the center of the coffee table was Sylvester, his large, fluffy tail wrapped around his ample body like a cape, reigning over his chaotic empire. I am not certain, but I think he was smiling at me.

Gary and I straigthened up the room, and he offered one more time to me the advice to open the front door and let Sylvester play in traffic.

Is a well-behaved cat too much to ask for?!

Thanks for making me glad I have dogs and the 2 cats I have are strays that found that I am a sucker for a free meal and just stuck around.

Sylvester was a rescue, but he has a funny way of showing his gratitude!

  3. Sounds like the cat version of my puppy. I can't tell you how many times he has beat me downstairs by 30 seconds for me to find little pieces of rug all throughout the kitchen and him standing there wagging his tail with ANOTHER ruined rug in his jaws… I swear he thinks he “killed them” and it was a good thing…

  4. Our house is a circus with our two dogs as well, you just never know what you are going to come home to!! Glad it wasn't anything serious!

I wake up to a similar scene every morning. The result of having two female indoor cats 🙂 The older male cat is not as amused by their antics as I am though…

I do love cats.. they are super entertaining!
